Go Berkey® Kit Review: The Best Portable Water Filter for Travel, Camping & Emergencies
When clean water isn't guaranteed, the Go Berkey® Kit is the compact, reliable solution that goes wherever you go. Whether you're backpacking through remote trails, preparing for emergencies, or simply want purified water on the road, this portable gravity filter delivers.
What Is the Go Berkey® Kit?
The Go Berkey® Kit is a 1-quart (0.95-liter) stainless steel gravity water filtration system built for portability. Unlike bulky countertop systems, it nests into itself for transport — standing just 10 inches tall when packed — and expands to 14 inches when in use. It's the smallest system in the Berkey® lineup, purpose-built for individuals and couples on the move.

- Capacity: ~1 quart (0.95 liters)
- Filtration rate: Up to 1 gallon (3.8 liters) per hour with 1 Black Berkey® Element
- Packed height: 10" | In-use height: 14" | Diameter: 4"
- Weight: 2.4 lbs. empty

What's Included in the Kit?
The Go Berkey® Kit ships complete and ready to use:
- Upper and lower stainless steel chambers
- 1 Black Berkey® Purification Element
- 1 wingnut, 1 washer, 1 priming button
- 1 stainless steel lid
- 1 Sport Berkey® Bottle (22 oz.)

How Does It Work?
Gravity does the work. Fill the upper chamber with water from virtually any freshwater source — tap, stream, lake, or rain — and the Black Berkey® Element filters it down into the lower chamber. No electricity, no pumps, no pressure required. It's one of the most reliable filtration methods available for off-grid use.
Who Is It For?
The Go Berkey® Kit is ideal for:
- Campers and hikers who need lightweight, packable filtration
- Travelers staying in areas with questionable tap water
- Emergency preparedness households building a go-bag or bug-out kit
- Van lifers and RV owners who want countertop-free filtration
Important Notes
The Go Berkey® Kit is not compatible with Berkey PF-2™ Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Elements. It accommodates a maximum of one Black Berkey® Element. Stainless steel chambers are assembled in the USA from US and imported parts. The Black Berkey® Elements, Black Berkey Primer™, and Sport Berkey® bottles are made and assembled in the USA.
Not available for sale to residents of California and Iowa.
Final Verdict
